And Uhuru Kenyatta had better get used to the idea, especially after allocating all the budget to his mega projects christened the Big 4 at the expense of Wanjikus's urgent needs.
With that being said, the pollsters are hard at work and the first poll in as far as the presidential race is concerned is here.
According to Insights Strategist Solution, Deputy President William Ruto would floor his rival Raila Odinga if the elections were to be held today.
In a meeting with the press, lead researcher Peter Macharia said 30.8 percent of Kenyans would vote for the self-nicknamed hustler.
Coming in a close second is Raila Odinga who is yet to officially announce his bid for the big seat, with 27.5 percent. Of course he's going to run.. I believe ruto is more likely to drop out of the race than Baba man.
It is also worth noting that both Ruto and Baba still control a big chunk of the votes in their Rift Valley and Nyanza backyards. They would garner 65 and 66 percent respectively.
A surprising name in the poll however is Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.. who would come in a distant third with 12.8 percent of the total votes.
Others include more seasoned candidates like ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi whose popularity seems unchanged decades later. It still stands in the neighbourhood of 9.3 percent.
Kalonzo Musyoka on the other hand is struggling to keep his footing at position five with 8.5 percent.
Ruto's home rival and Kanu leader Gideon Moi will be disappointed to learn that his national popularity is a dismal 2.7 percent which is quite telling.
Oh, and then there's the likes of Alfred Mutua and Hassan Joho in the group of others, with 0.9 and 0.8 respectively.
14 percent of those polled noted that they were yet to settle on a candidate, so Mr Ruto shouldn't sit pretty at the top.
