A group of Japanese women have submitted a petition calling on the government to ban employers from requiring women to wear high-heeled shoes in their workplaces.
Saying such requirements are a form of gender discrimination, the group also started a campaign using the hashtag #KuToo, which resembles #MeToo and using the Japanese words for “shoes” and “pain”.
