Space Engineers: A Surplus Refit

Space Engineers: A Surplus Refit Hey, remember when I used to upload videos and not stream? Wow, so do I!

Welcome to my own personal refit of the Trade Surplus from Uncooperative Survival. I finally finished the structural parts of the refit today and wanted to share it before I go at it with the paint brush and lighting optimization, plus get my footing back with a bit of music sync. (Note: Need to do better there and get more footage to choose from.)

This refitted 'plus is formidably armed with 5 Malediction Turrets, and broadsides of heavy turrets, Midnight DEG turrets for anti-fighter coverage, and Pikemen for anti-missile defenses - not to mention one hell of a main gun from Spacebar. She's powered by twin Midnight Reactors with two auxiliary reactor rooms for additional generating capacity and a host of solar panels and Azimuth batteries to give her emergency power options - particularly for its main shield.

This build features the "Moon Tower" structure with a rebuilt mushroom top to accomodate a sizeable bridge with everything you need to oversee flight and combat operations. The underslung Viper bay has also been retained and extended, and now features a "roll deck" access hatch to the shipyard, as well as an extended (and safer) landing bay. Most of the Surplus is air-tight, with the exception of a few rooms here and there, and airlocks leading to breathable areas have now been noted with blue lights for those in a hurry.

The side of the shipyard, much as it has started to be utilized on the series, has been repurposed for small ship storage, and small grid construction has been moved to a side bay towards the rear of the ship.

She's not quite ready for the workshop -- like I said, a lot of finishing touches are still needed -- but I wanted to show off some of the progress made so far.
