It all begins with realizing that you’re getting paid to solve people’s problems. So if you’re not making enough money—it’s time to solve bigger problems.
Ask yourself, “What is the problem this client is experiencing?” Then dig deeper and ask, “What other problems do they have that they’re not aware of?”
Clients may come to you asking for help with Facebook ads, for example, but you may find out they’re only running those ads to get more customers. So as a consultant, you can find ways to solve their bigger problem of how to get more high-quality customers, which might include improving Facebook ads along with improving landing pages and sales funnels.
So always ask *why* the client thinks they need help with a particular problem. A transaction takes place where value exceeds price. Solve a *bigger* problem for your client, and you can command bigger prices.
Of course, don’t be motivated by money alone. The focus should always be on the client and how you can provide them with that huge transformation they’re looking for. The money will follow.
