Yes & No Mean the OPPOSITE in Korean!

Answering negative questions in Korean can be quite confusing because it works in the complete opposite way compared to English.

Assuming you ate already...
Question: Didn't you eat? / 안 먹었어요?
English Answer: Yes (I ate)
Korean Answer: 아니요 (I ate)

By negating the negative question, the Korean answer NO becomes the equivalent of the English YES!
