I'm not putting these 6 in any order— instead each has it's own unique strengths that you'll want to use it for:

Squarespace has excellent themes and great features. And it's intuitive like an Apple product.

Wix's blank canvas editor offers a great deal of freedom to customize— though it can occasionally become confusing.

Weebly is really easy to use. It's what I recommend to anyone who feels intimidated or not super tech savvy.

Strikingly is the best one-page website builder. (One page websites are long websites where the navigations scrolls you up and down the page.)

Shopify is the best ecommerce website builder. (Unlike Squarespace, Wix, Weebly and Strikingly, Shopify is only for building ecommerce websites— so it has the most sophisticated ecommerce features.

Format is the best portfolio builder.
