• "Ethical porn may include any genre, style, form, depiction, and tenor of sexual media — as long as said sexual media is created ethically.
At its most essential, adult content that is consensual and transparent, is created in an environment that emphasizes safety and respect, and does not contribute to wider social inequalities via troublesome post-production marketing is ethical. Elements like tenor and intensity, sex acts being depicted, or production value do not preclude content from being ethical. Beyond these key dimensions however are a wealth of subjective issues, standpoints, and concerns that require multidimensional, evolving dialogue. Ethical.Porn is committed to exploring these issues with this groundwork in mind.
Within the context of contemporary sexual media today, ethical porn requires consent, disclosure, and compliance with professional adult content production community standards and the Model Bill of Rights outlined by the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee (APAC) and The Free Speech Coalition’s (FSC) Code of Ethics and PASS.
Though the concept of ethical porn does not discount or discredit amateur, personal, and/or developmental content, ethical porn mandates a level professionalism outlined by these entities and aforementioned parameters."
• What is Feminist Porn:
"Feminist porn as a genre, a category or a movement has been around for over a decade. And yet the phrase still raises eyebrows for some. Second-wave feminists in the 70s and 80s were often outspoken against pornography, to the point that it became entrenched in public consciousness that feminism and porn were natural enemies.
The truth is that porn can be – and is – feminist. By definition, porn is simply sexually explicit media. It’s not inherently sexist or degrading or sex-negative. When feminists create pornography that reflects their perspectives, their sexuality, their politics and their sexual ideals, that becomes feminist porn.
Attempts to define it can be difficult because the phrase means different things to different people. The term “feminist porn” could describe an ideal, a genre, a work ethic or an entire movement; it all depends on who you ask."
• Feminist Porn a brief History:
"Feminist porn is – at its simplest – pornography created from a feminist perspective. As a genre it takes in a wide variety of voices, ideas and politics and is difficult to define as any one type of porn. Feminist porn is a relatively recent thing, though it is still several decades old. The history of the genre / movement is one of slow buildup over the decades, amplified by the growth of the internet. Feminist porn has evolved over time from a focus on the intended audience (typically porn for women) to what was shown, who was depicted and what ethics are involved in production."
• The EPP wants to challenge the notion all porn is exploitative. Instead, we want to collectively establish ‘best practice’ for the industry, while proving that it’s possible to advocate the health, welfare and working rights of those involved in its production, and offer consumers high-quality, original content made to certain ethical standards.
