"Designating Hezbollah a terrorist group is largely symbolic"

Dr Andreas Krieg of King's College London on the UK's decision to designate Hezbollah a terrorist organization: "The UK follows US policy here. But it cannot circle the square of maintaining ways to engage Hezbollah as a significant socio-political player in Lebanon while sanctioning it. It takes away from the government's ability to find meaningful & constructive ways to engage with this hybrid organization that has 13 MPs in Lebanon's Parliament."
