Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Tanguy Ndombele and are in contact with the midfielder’s entourage ahead of the summer transfer window. Ndombele has turned heads with a string of accomplished performances for Lyon this season and Europe’s elite clubs are queueing up for the 22-year-old’s signature. Back in November, Pep Guardiola singled out Ndombele for praise following Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Lyon and the Premier League champions continue to be linked with the Frenchman. According to Le 10 , both United and City are in contact with Ndombele’s representatives as they prepare to do battle for the midfielder in the summer. However, neither club have opened serious discussions regarding a big-money move. The report claims Juventus and Inter Milan are the favourites to land the sought-after France international. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is demanding a fee of around €80million (£70m) for Ndombele. Ndombele admits he would be open to joining a big club at the end of the season, but insists he does not regret staying on at Lyon for the 2018/19 campaign. ‘I could have gone, maybe things would have worked out well,’ he told Canal Club in December. ‘The club was firm, they didn’t want me to leave. I didn’t feel like leaving, and I think that today you can see that it was the best decision for me. ‘Things are going well, I am playing a lot of games, and I am in the French national team. So, I think for the moment it was the best decision. ‘I don’t imagine how my career will go, I live it instead. ‘When I was young I didn’t dream of being in this or that club, whether it is Real Madrid, Barcelona, City, I have never dreamed of being in a specific club like that. ‘Of course they are big clubs, I don’t close the door to anyone.’ To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video
