On Friday February 1, 2019 there was a tour of Corner Brook’s Licensed Cannabis Cultivator for some members of Council and staff.
Information:
• The Authorized licensed cultivators, processors and sellers under the Cannabis Act - BeeHigh Vital Elements Inc.
• Over $4 Million in investment in the building and equipment
• They have plans to expand to 54,000 sq feet
• They have had request for product around the world however, they are committed to serving NL first and hiring locally.
• The construction: 50 local employees during the construction phase. Companies were hired locally.
• Currently they have less than 8-10 employees however that will grow as production expands
• They were the first new company in Canada to be licenced under the Canada Cannabis Act which is the a legal framework for the production, distribution, sale and possession of cannabis in Canada.
• Canada is the second country in the world to legalize marijuana nationally
