According to La Nación, police investigators had De La Torre under their watch since 2017 for his dealings with a criminal organization that was transporting cocaine into Buenos Aires. De La Torre was being investigated because he was viewed as the network's major supplying source in Buenos Aires' west side.Cops confiscated De La Torre's Chevrolet Cruze, a number of cell phones, two laptops, a tablet, security surveillance cameras and a note pad.During the two-year investigation, cops confiscated eight kilos of cocaine and two kilos of marijuana. De La Torre's dad, Rubén Alberto was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in 2010 for his role in the January 2006 Rio Bank robbery in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Matanza. 147 safe deposit boxes were stolen before Rubén Alberto and his accomplices were able to escape with the cash aboard two inflatable boats through a tunnel they had spent months building. The group was rounded up by cops after Rubén Alberto's wife ratted him out because he was planning on leaving her for another woman with who he would spend his newfound riches with. Rubén Alberto, like his other four accomplices, was released under probation but not until May 2014 under an Argentine bylaw which allowed the bank robber to apply for his release six months before his parole could have been granted. His son Gastón was suspected of participating in the robbery but investigators later cleared him of any possible involvement.
