Arwind Santos calls on teammates to stay positive as San Miguel continues to struggle

Arwind Santos vowed to be the instrument of change for San Miguel now that the Beermen have dropped back-to-back games for the first time in five all-Filipino conferences.

A bout with diarrhea ended Santos' streak of 132 consecutive games played and forced him to miss Friday's game that saw San Miguel absorbed a 108-98 defeat to Rain or Shine.

It was a frustrating loss but Santos called on his teammates to stay positive as there are more games to be played.

"Hindi pa naman huli ang lahat. Kailangan mag-regroup kami kasi sobrang hindi maganda yung talo namin," he rued.

Santos found himself helpless on the sidelines as the team captain repeatedly urged his teammates to get their acts together on defense.

"Depensa talaga eh. Kailangang maayos natin yun," he said.

Santos' averages of 13.5 points, 5.75 rebounds, and 2.0 assists were sorely missed during their game against Rain or Shine.

The outspoken Beermen , though, vowed to be ready for their game against Blackwater on Wednesday as they attempt to get back on the winning track.

"Sa Wednesday, back to action na ako. Naghina lang talaga ako kaya di ako nakapaglaro. Pero babalik na ako," he said.
