Over the last 10 games, James Harden has been unstoppable, averaging a staggering 41 points per game, on 44% from the field and 41% from three.
His explosion led Houston to 10-1 over the last 11 games and they are now 4th in the West.

About 3 weeks ago the Houston Rockets were second to last in the West and things were looking ugly. That’s when Harden decided that he needed to take his training to a whole new level to help the team.
In a recent article from Houston Chronicle, Mike D’Antoni revealed that James increased the intensity of his training regime big time.
He would come in early to do some lifting. Before video sessions, he would run the arena stairs, and after the 90 minute practice with the team, he has intense 1 on 1 games with his teammates where they get extra physical with him. James also gets double teamed by PJ Tucker and Gerald Green, 2 good defenders who help him work on handling real game double team situations.
On game days he’s also added a morning session of treatment and stretching.
D’Antoni says that the run began for Houston, just as Harden started to do all of this.
So, after an initial 5 game winning streak, CP3 gets injured against the Heat, and the Rockets lose that game to a struggling Miami team. This caused a lot of doubt about their possible comeback having only James to rely on during a tough schedule ahead.

In the absence of Chris Paul, James Harden delivered big time. Just look at these video game numbers that secured a 5 game sweep for the Rockets and brought this team to the 4th place in a scary looking western conference.
They are still not quite out of the woods yet, as they face the Warriors, Blazers, Nuggets and the Bucks in their next four games. But with Harden being blazing hot right now I don’t think they’re afraid of anyone at the moment.
Even tho a lot of the role players still need to step up big time and help the team, things are looking much better for Houston right now, and it’s all because of the beard, who if you ask him is gunning for his second straight MVP award, and honestly, he’s definitely in the conversation.
