my life with chronic illnesses.
Something I have learned these last seven years of living with chronic illnesses is that sometimes it's okay to not be okay. Several years back, I started a blog to escape from my daily pain. I then moved to Youtube last year to continue that distraction. However, over the last year and a half we have made some discoveries regarding my health and have finally found the disease that is causing a large percentage of my discomfort. That disease would be MALS, also known as Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome. The only way we can reverse this disease is through an open surgery. I will be having that surgery sometime within the next several weeks.
Being open with people about my personal life, my health especially, is not something that comes easy to me. That is part of the reason why I have never really mentioned anything until now. I have been apprehensive about saying anything at all due to the fact I have been told many terrible things by doctors. They have made false accusations which have hindered me from getting proper treatment.
You may have noticed in some of my vlogs that i walk with a cane. That is due to the chronic fatigue and dizziness I experience as well as the CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) in my left leg. Before, I used a wheelchair, then I graduated to crutches and am now using a cane. I am thankful for the slow but steady progress I have made with my endurance.
This year, I plan on being more open and honest about my daily struggles with my health. I plan on documenting my journey with MALS as well as my recovery from surgery. I hope you all decide to join me on this journey.
