Karamba Security's Smart City Demo: Hacking and Preventing Attacks on Connected Vehicles - CES 2019

Karamba Security presented a demo in CES 2019.
We have set up a "smart city" featuring replicas of real vehicles with controllers (ECUs) that have external connectivity (V2X). We demonstrate how hackers target a vehicle and how Karamba can protect against such attacks.
We provide you with an infrastructure where you can create a hack that allows you to infiltrate the vehicle. This will allow you to control the vehicle: you can make it accelerate, stop and even go in reverse.
In the second part of the demonstration, we enable Karamba Security protection on the vehicle so that the vehicle you are trying to hack is un-hackable.
When the attack happens and it is being prevented by Karamba Security, the OEM and Tier1 provider will get a detailed forensic report on the attack. They will be able to fix those reported bugs and create an improved version of the ECUs for the vehicle while the passengers and the driver remain safe.
