God WANTS us to KNOW we HAVE eternal life as a free gift based only on what Jesus did for us...HE as the last or 2nd Adam died for us and AS US on the cross was buried and rose again PURGING AND PAYING FOR THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD - HE DIED ONCE FOR ALL AND IF WE TRUST IN HIM FOR ETERNAL LIFE GOD COUNTS OUR FAITH FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS "As Abraham believed God and it was counted him for righteousness" MAN just CANNOT rest in God's grace so they always add a "but" to the simplicity in Christ bc the "unspeakable gift" is too good to be true for them...they just will not believe it and bc they do NOT have assurance bc they are always lookin to their own performance or "life make over or reformation" instead of what Jesus did alone...they will not allow You to have joy peace and assurance.
