I - Sport, Inclusive Sport Project Opposed to Radicalization Tenets - final video

The project “I Sport-Inclusive Sport Project Opposed to Radicalization Tenets” brought together CEIPES, “Malaspina” Juvenile Detention Center, Refugee and Asylum Seekers Centers, as well as CUS Palermo – University Sports Center and the University of Palermo, in a cooperation that has had the main objective of combating the phenomenon of radicalization starting from the most difficult contexts of the Palermo society, promoting the inclusion and enhancement of cultural differences through sport practice.
A target group of 100 young people, between the age of 16 and 25, of both sexes, including young prisoners, refugees and young people with migrant background, as well as youngsters of the city, participated in athletic, futsal and volleyball sport modules, through which, thanks to the work of experienced coaches and educators, they have been able to develop and test the values ​​of solidarity and sharing, and above all the importance of belonging to a team, regardless of the cultural, religious or social background of its members.
The activities took place during the course of 2018, consisting of non-formal education meetings and sports training sessions, both at the Malaspina IPM and at CUS and ended with a city tournament at CUS in Palermo.
