A popular food brand has recalled hundreds of thousands of its chicken nuggets over fears they contain rubber. Tyson Foods is recalling more than 36,000 pounds of of its ‘White Meat Panko Chicken Nuggets’ after warning they may have ‘extraneous material, specifically rubber.’ The recall was listed as a ‘Class I recall,’ which is a ‘situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.’ Tyson Foods has recalled 36,420 pounds of the chicken nuggets because they may contain chicken (Picture: AP) The product has been identified as the plastic packages of “Tyson White Meat Panko Chicken Nuggets” with a “Best if used by” date of November 26, 2019 (Picture: USDA) Tyson Foods received numerous complaints from consumers who reportedly found rubber in the nuggets, which were shipped to stores nationwide. There have not been any reports of illness caused by the nuggets, although federal health inspectors believe many packages of the rubber-contaminated chicken may still be in people’s freezer.
