Emery 'gives green light' for Arsenal to make first January signing

Unai Emery has given Arsenal the green light to sign Yannick Carrasco this month, it has been claimed.  The Belgian winger, formally of Atletico Madrid, has been heavily linked with the Gunners over the past few weeks.  The 25-year-old has been playing in the Chinese Super League since 2015, but could now be set for a sensational return to Europe.   According to Foot Mercato, Emery is a big fan of the winger and has given his permission for Arsenal to launch a bid for the Belgium ace.  However, the French publication adds that Arsenal will have their work cut out as Dalian Yifang are unwilling to part with the man who has scored seven goals in 26 appearances this season.  It has also been reported that Carrasco would be willing to take a pay cut to seal a transfer to Arsenal.  The Belgian currently rakes in £9million per-year at the Chinese Super League outfit.   However, Calcio Mercato claim the attacker is unhappy and ready to quit the club after just a year in the Far East.
