#15 Moths and Butterflies
These insects belong to the same order, so they share some similar traits. That Includes starting off their lives as caterpillars, and having a similar shape and appearance. But a key way to tell them apart is by their antennae. Moth antennae can appear serrated or feathery, while the butterfly’s antennae is club-shaped with a bulbous tip. If you can’t examine them that closely, look at the wings. Moth wings have a tent-like shape over their abdomen. Butterfly wings cover their backs and fold up vertically.
