Maruti Ignis Review | Why Car Buyers are Falling in Love with the Ignis | Ecardlr Customer Review

On the look out for a car that's easy on the pedal and a smooth city drive, Chetan finally zeroed on to the Maruti Ignis. The resale value of the Maruti car made it a pretty easy choice for him in the end. In favour of a car that is easy to manouvre around the hectic city traffic, Chetan was adamant about an AMT and narrowly missed out on the Maruti Suzuki Swift AMT that would come out after a while.
The Renault Kwid, The TATA Tiago, The Honda Jazz, and the Maruti Celerio were all in his shortlist while browsing for the perfect city car but each got dismissed for valid reasons. Whether it be the uncomfortable dials in the Kwid or the pricey Jazz with nearly similar specs, Baleno RS with 100 BHP and a premium price tag also lost the share of his wallet and Polo TSi was way beyond his budget. He could have settled for Celerio X but the need to check out more got in the way of Celerio X becoming his furture drive. Tiago lost out due to close similarities with old Indica and unkept test drive car.
Chetan prefers to push the pedal; so the Manual mode of the Ignis performs well enough to take care of his adrenaline rush. He never needs to fuss over the AMT either. Long distances don't pose as a hiccup & the occasional jerk is taken care of by a higher acceleration.
The interiors threw him off guard- not expecting such a vibrant urban look; the unavailability of black exteriors disappointing him though, so he had to settle for Urban Blue.
The Build Quality and finish don't trouble you until the dashboard colour starts to fade; surprisingly the exteriors- even when exposed to harsher conditions seem to hold it together in Maruti Ignis.
The harder suspension is what Chetan prefers, provides him a better handling over the car. Not a single close call that he could remember, he finds the braking just about decent what with the ABS; the lack of more airbags troubles him somewhat irrespective of the straight line stop that the Ignis provides.
The steering response is the single troubling aspect of the Ignis that Chetan is unhappy with. Let's just say he simply 'Hates' the steering that has not become any lighter over time.
The Head Lights needed to be upped a level and so did the tyres; the grip on the road he wanted was missing though he had to compromise on the mileage in exchange of wider tyres.
The en masse perception of Maruti cars being the absolute Value for money investments holds true for Chetan too. Getting a better acceleration than a Baleno at a price point with the comprehensive safety features that the Ignis has makes it a steal according to him.
We have deliberately retained the raw original form as we believe it's the content that matters more than the pizzaz.
